What May Change During Conversion?
Merged cells
GFM tables have no native row-span or column-span syntax. Merged regions must be repeated, flattened, left blank or emitted as HTML.
Charts and shapes
Charts, conditional formatting, colors, icons and floating objects need separate export or a textual summary.
Formula calculation
A file can store both formula text and a cached value. The converter may not recalculate formulas, especially when external workbooks are referenced.
Very wide worksheets
A technically valid Markdown table may still be difficult to read. Sheet and range selection can create a better result.
Dates and number formats
The converter uses cached formula results when available and otherwise keeps formula text. Excel display formatting may not carry over.
